Abstract
Verbesina barrancae, a new species of Compositae (Heliantheae) from Jalisco, México, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically similar toVerbesina crocata but differs in characteristics of inflorescence, anthers, and achenes as well as in form of pollen, size and number of spinules, size of colpus transversalis, and index of polar area.
Resumen
Se describe e ilustraVerbesina barrancae (Compositae, Heliantheae) como una especie nueva para Jalisco, México. Morfologicamente,V. barrancae está relacionada conV. crocata pero difiere por características en la inflorescencia, las anteras, y los aquenios. También hay características palinológicas que las diferencian como: forma del polen, tamaño y número de espínulas, tamaño del colpo transversal e índice del área polar.
